About the Book:  Preface: All praises are due to Allah, and blessings and peace upon His servant and messenger, Muhammad, and upon his family and companions and all who follow his guidance until the Day of Resurrection. Although not everyone will accept the message of Islam, the da’iyah himself should not be a preventing factor. Firmly believing in this principle, I decided to gather material which has been presented over the last decade to students in the Islamic Cultural Center, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My students and colleagues played a motivating role in collecting the material and putting in into a book form in order to meet the ever-increasing need for effective da’wah amount and by non-Arabic speaking people. I must admit that although I had worked for some time in the field of da’wah, it had been, unfortunately, without sufficient enlightenment regarding the principles of conveying the message of Islam. I also happened to observe da’iyahs who excelled in the field and others who failed. Then I came to know of da’wah courses being held in my city of residence, where I could learn and practice concurrently. I learned that da’wah cannot be done by “instinctive” measures alone. But must be disciplined by regulations and guidelines, just as Quran recitation is governed by rules of tajweed. All my references were in Arabic ones, which meant that extra effort was required to render the information into English. I was assisted in this by my friend and colleague, Umm Muhammad, who typed, edited and checked the authenticity of hadiths quoted in Arabic sources in order to make the book more useful and readable. We tried to make this book inclusive of most of the basic fiqh ad-da’wah syllabuses due to the shortage of such literature in English. We ask Allah to accept our efforts, forgive our errors and cover us with His mercy until we meet Him, hoping to find Him please with us, in-sha Allah. We are living in exciting times; with as many political/economic disasters as natural ones it is undoubtedly obvious that time is fleeting faster than we can imagine and we are reaching the end of times. It is this profound feeling that has caused a much shift of focus in many students of knowledge around the world to Da’wah not just on the side, but as a way of life. This book provides a simple and easy framework to keep in mind while involved in Da’wah projects of any kind so that we become facilitators and not barriers for others. It was very good and helpful for me to read before I started off on my own Da’wah journey. I recommend it to anyone and everyone who has the intention of making Da’wah in their heart.
