About the Book: With the advent of technology, the entertainment industry has flourished and become immensely popular. Combine this with the exponential advances in technology, and the result is an increasing number of ways to amuse ourselves. As a result of such advances the Muslims react in a variety of manners towards entertainment. This book looks at those views and suggests alternative methods of entrainment to that which is deemed Haram.

I found the author’s open-mindedness very appealing. Most books on the subject are emotional rather than factual. However, in this book, the author does not shy away from analyzing the modern entertainment industry; he makes references to Quran and Hadith, writes in a simple yet cohesive manner, and appeals to the reader’s intellect. The discussion on music is one of the best I have read. The book is brief — can easily be read in two or three sittings.

The book cleared all the misconceptions about Islamic concept of entertainment with help of Quranic Ayah and Authentic Hadith. Not only this, but also gave halal alternatives of prohibited entertainment. I would recommend this book to all those Muslims who are confused about the concept of entertainment in Islam. This book also explain why certain source of entertainment is prohibited with logical reasoning and Authentic reference. May Allah guide us all to the right path. Aameen.
