Learn to Read and Write in Just 3 Months

Jugnoo Sabaq is a set of four books. With these four books anyone can learn to read and write Urdu in just three months. And when we say, “read and write Urdu” we mean read any Urdu newspaper independently and write a letter creatively.

Jugnoo Sabaq uses a very effective method of learning called IIPR. IIPR is an abbreviation of Introduce, Identify, Practice and Review. All concepts in Jugnoo Sabaq are given through IIPR ensuring effective learning for all types of learners. Another benefit of IIPR is its ‘learner friendliness.” IIPR makes learning very easy and effective for a learner.

Jugnoo Sabaq is the “Tool” that Literate Pakistan Foundation has been using in its fight against illiteracy. This tool, in the form of four books, has proved to be so effective in its ability to make a person literate, it is now used by numerous other organizations including Government, international donor agencies and NGOs all across Pakistan. Jugnoo Sabaq was developed after five years of research on Urdu language with the end product being these books, which can make any person literate in just three months.

The name Jugnoo comes from a poem of Allama Iqbal. In this poem, Jugnoo shows the way home to a bird lost in the darkness of night. Jugnoo, therefore, is a symbol of help and guidance. These books help the learner by making them independent and guide them towards literacy. Similarly these books help instructors teach more effectively and the teachers manual provided with these books guide through structured learning activities.

The word Sabaq comes from another poem of Iqbal where he says:
Sabaq Phir Parrh Sada’qat Ka, Ada’lat Ka, Shuja’at Ka.
Lia Jaey Ga Kam Tujh Sey Dunya Kee Imamat Ka
(Read once again the lesson of bravery, truthfulness, and justice. You will be asked to lead the world once more).

Jugnoo Sabaq uses positive reading materials and develops in children positive attitudes.
